Well its official, figures this week told us what we all knew. We are is recession. Sterling weakened accordingly, creating a 25 year low against the US Dollar.
From an economic perspective its impossible to put a positive spin on whats going on, the only thing we can do is realise that the world isn´t going to stop, we will all come out the other side, probably a little wiser.
Many investors see now as the time to pick up some bargain basement assets. John Cauldwell (Founder of Phones4U) revealed he spent a considerable amount of money on commercial property as he believes the market is at its lowest point, but then again he does have a spare 1.6 billion pounds sitting in his account!
I have just finished a great book by James Caan (Dragons Dens) modestly titled "The Real Deal". One pearl of wisdom from the book really stood out, actually came from the authors father.
"Observe the masses, then do the opposite"
This tends to be the mantra of many successful people and it certainly worked for Mr. Caan
